So I'm more curious than anything else. I have always used conventional 5w-30 because my mechanic changes the oil for $30 with conventional. But, since winter is coming I had an idea that maybe mobil 1 5w-30 would be better for cold starts. And following that logic would 0w-30 mobil 1 provide even more protection for the winter?
I'm in NY by the way so we get the four seasons but I'm not in Alaska or anything. Does anyone use synthetic or 0w-30 for the winter?
Right now you can get 5 quarts of mobil 1 for $11 after rebate
