another rear axle qustion

i have a 03 sport, rear end is going bad.i picked up a 02 with the same gear and i noticed today when it was doped off it has drum brake rear.my 03 has disc can i just swap over the disc set up to the donor axle?

You can, but have to pull axles out etc and swap everything over
Not a hard job just time consuming is all

i was going to change the axle seals anyways so thats not a big deal.someone said that the 02 is a dana 35 and the 03 is a 8.25 but im not really believing him

Very early models had the 35, but very very few

The D35 was a option for the KJ all the way to 2005,mostly found on 2wd 4 ****** base models.

Maybe thats why I never seen any since base 2 wheel drive 4 bangers , never seen one of them

Yeah if you see a KJ without rook rails(from the factory) it most likely has the D35 in the rear.
