Hello everyone. New member here. My wife has a 2004 3.7 2x4 Limited with 161,000 miles and I have a new to me 2005 CRD 4x4 Limited with 68,000. They seem to be built well and hold up well with proper maintenance and care. On the 04 I have replaced the electric cooling fan (my wife actually did the work) and the passenger side valve cover gasket. Everything else has been normal wear/maintenance items; brakes, bulbs, maker lenses, lift struts etc.
The 05 I have had it for just over two months. I just replaced the parking brake shoes. The linings came off the shoes on one side while doing 70 down the highway. I'll chalk that one up to poor maintenance. And it has an engine surge that is very pronounced at low speeds. 2 days at the dealership and a $300 hole in my checking account has netted no solutions. I will start a new thread to address the issue and go into greater detail.
So I joined here in hopes of solving a problem or two and learning the tricks and tips for keeping our jeeps on the road. Thanks for reading my lengthy intro and have a great day. Darren.
