Agreed, do it yourself. Don’t do a flush! It’s really no more difficult than changing your engine oil. Loosen all the pan bolts, start at the rear, remove all those at the rear and up the sides. Across the front loosen a few at a time and pry down on the back of the pan to break the seal loose...
Almost every modern vehicle uses the AC compressor (winter & summer) in defrost and defrost/floor mode to remove unwanted humidity from the inside air so the windows don't fog up. When the compressor is commanded on it also commands the fan to run to pull a sufficient amount of air across the...
Check you grounds as well. I would think if you are not blowing fuses that you are not shorted to ground in the circuit so it must be opened circuited somewhere. My instrument lights stop dimming and I could not turn on the dome lights. Found out it was a broken wire in the left stalk...
That’s what I was looking for. My scanner shows me the coolant temp and voltage. I just did not know at what temp the the computer commands the fan to run. Thanks again.
Possibly check the sway-bar link arm bushings and the frame mounted bushings. The sway-bar will flex ever so slightly when turning the wheel even sitting still. I don't fully understand what you mean by this: "Yet I do not see any CV joints?" The actual joint is in the rubber boot.
The scan tool can’t really tell if the coil is good or bad. It only know that something is not right and points you in that direction. A lab scope and ohm meter can tell you more but a coil can test good but break down under load after it gets hot.
Another good way to test for a bad coil is to...
Automotive scan tools come in all shapes and sizes. I have tried three different models so far. Right now I have a Topdon Phoenix Plus. Most will read generic codes and clear them. Others are bi-directional and can operate certain modules. I would recommend on that can at least read live data...
Do you have access to an automotive scan tool to check for active data stream. I would suggest to clean the throttle body well. It could be several things, do a through visual inspection of the engine compartment to see if anything is unhooked or broken wires to any of the sensors. Go under the...
I just did mine this winter. I would suggest getting the two lower cam bolts for each side of the lower control arms. I was able to get three of mine out but is was a pain. One would not come out and I had to use a reciprocating saw to cut it out. The upper control arms are fairly easy. Remove...
