What did you do to your jeep today?

Would the Greasable ball joint in Mevotech upper control arm be recommended to the moog nongreasable upper arm? I used all Moog for passenger side but think anything with a grease fitting would be better to those without?

    Lost passenger front wheel

Thanks, success or at least I think so. Replaced passenger side upper arm, lower ball joint and tie rod end. Got all Moog parts which took awhile to come in but they are in and on the Libby. I pointed the grease fitting towards the engine then I saw it is recommended to face front or back. Does...

    Lost passenger front wheel

Originally I lifted the car and checked for movement by pulling on tire left to right and top and bottom. Now that I pulled the knuckle off I grabbed the top ball joint and it is very loose. Obviously pulling/pushing on the tire left right top and bottom is not the correct way. I saw a video...

    Lost passenger front wheel

Upper passenger side is loose and I’ll replace as well. I am assuming MOOG part number CK3198 is recommendation with MOOG lower? is it normal for the CV axle to slide pretty easily after the knuckle is off? It amazing I felt no play in the front end last month with as loose as everything...

    Lost passenger front wheel

Thanks, luckily I was in a parking lot and moving very slow. I don’t believe much else was damaged. It’s a 2006 and I will be checking for play in upper lower and tie rod ends. I haven’t had the Liberty but for a couple of months for my son so I’m glad this happened where it did. There wasn’t...

    Lost passenger front wheel

Just had it towed home. The front passenger lower ball joint sheered off. I saw a couple of videos on replacing upper control arm and ball joints and while it doesn’t appear to be an easy job I’m gonna try and tackle the job myself. If anyone has advice on front end parts to check especially...

    New here

This thread: https://www.jeepkj.com/threads/required-fluid-types.45270/ Was a good place to start to get an idea of general maintenance and things to look for. It helped us get started with a to-do list and good place for my son to learn. Many of the changes have you tube videos as well.

Looking at a 2008 Liberty for my child

Welcome, Just bought a 2006 for my 17 year old. He was looking for the KJ style and we found one for 2200 with 127k. It was NOT well kept and that’s partially what we wanted-something we could work on together. When maintained well these Jeeps do last. While we were looking we saw plenty with...

    Sunroof repair

the rattle in the sunroof was driving us nuts so we dropped the headliner and pulled the assembly out today. It must have been leaking for previous owner because it was siliconed shut. We repaired the plastic and aluminum track and slides and hopefully it seals nice once we put glass and...

    Transmission issues

There is a thread in general discussion named required fluid types with some helpful notes and comments. They might help explain the whine with newer fluid, but it sounds like you might be lucky like we were with fluid flush and filter fixing the issue. Please keep us updated,it’s nice to know...

    Transmission issues

Like LibertyTC had said you are only getting about 50% of the fluid changed and if you are seeing and feeling improvement already you might be ok after a full flush. Some of those additives do more damage than good and some work wonders. I’ll trust that the Sea-Foam suggested is probably one...

    Transmission issues

I was surprised at the difference it made for us, so you might get lucky. They way you described it, the problem does clear for a period of time. Possible that’s when it heats up and struggles with old fluid cleaning it out might free whatever is sticking. LibertyTC advice is spot on. My comment...
