Thanks belvedere. I had this exact same noise with my 3.9ltr Dakota for years until I added the chain tensioner. I just have not had this noise until today the morning after i start using the new oil. I may have to replace my chain and tensioner on the liberty this summer.
I am trying the 0W-30 because it says it exceeds the requirements of 5W-30, and is better on gas. The oil has a reduced viscosity while cold but it is still 30 weight oil.
I started using the 0W-30 Mobile 1 Syn yesterday, and now have that dreaded timing chain rattle for a few minutes after start up. Anyone else using 0W-30, and notice this?

The best way to replace these it to take the control arm off and use a sawsall to cut the bushing off at each side of the insertion hole and get creative with your other tools to pop them out. No need for a press to put the new ones in. You can just hammer in the new ones with it in a vise. Its...
No special tool needed to remove the Cleavis to Lower Control Arm bushing. You put the LCA in a good vise and use a chisel to split the bushing down one side then use the vise to mash the bushing together and just work it out. Its a real pain in the but but it will come out. You could also use a...
Correct! You do not have to unbolt the sub frame, but you will have to unbolt the diff on the passenger side to maneuver the rack out and the new one in. It can be done in a matter of a 4 to 6 hours with some mechanical skill and help from this site.
