Ok. I have a 2004 Black Kj Sport 3.7L and am in need of new tires. i like the grabber at2's and the nitto terra grapplers. my question is what tires should i get either between these two or something else? i want a tougher looking tire as im on the stock ones currently. I think i want bigger tires. what do you think?

245-70-16s would be a good size
Firestone Destination ATs are a great tire for overall driving
More aggressive look at the Duratracs by Goodyear

    where abouts in Ohio
Having a gathering this coming weekend at my place get to see several KJs with a wide variety of tires/lifts etc

I'd say Goodyear Duratracs as well. (But I don't think they come in 245-70-16 size.)
One of our friends has a set of 33's under his Cherokee and they work real well off road and are not to loud on the pavement either!
    That and they look good.

I had the BFG All Terrains and I loved them. Excellent in rain, snow, ice, everything except mud really. They cake pretty quick in mud.

As of now I would go Firestone
I have their heavier tire on my F250
    Called the Transforce AT
I go to all kinds of places from scrap yards to sand pits
The truck is 2wd weighs 9,000# and they still look great
as far as tread wear at 40k miles I would say 60k easily
I have NEVER had a flat
This is more than I can say for the Michillins on my wife's
    VW that may get 50k

If we were not into off roading I think I would of gone for Goodyear Silent Armour tires.

I would also but #1 they did not have them when I
    Needed tires
#2 they cost to much even for some one else's money
But now that I have 40K on mine and a guy who has
the G/Y's has just over 25k and less tread on the same
Truck I will stick with the Firestones
    Just some food for thought
I got 4 Transforce AT's for just over $800 out the door
The same size G/Y's were $1300

    Good point J!

I've never used Firestone tires so I cannot comment!

You are so lucky that you have 16" rims :), there is much wider choice of tires for KJ in this size then in 17". I'm wondering, who the hack decided to wear 17" rims on Limited???

I recently put a set of Yokohama Geolandrs on my Libby. Haven't been off road with them yet, but the highway ride is fairly smooth and they are pretty quiet too. Including installation got a set for $585.

i have nitto terra grapplers and id say DO NOT GET THEM FOR MUD!
they are terrible for mud but for rainy roads they are amazing and ive had them on a 1993 Suburban and got 65k miles out of them and on my liberty im at 40k and they look as good as new almost besides the curb rash. I'd got with an actual mud terrain tire if thats what your going to be doing.
My liberty fit 265/65r16 with hardly any tire rub(its also lifted 2") but you can cut fenders and the fit the 265/75/r16 with ease

So do the Goodyear M/T R's though!

    "Cut fenders?"
    Please elaborate!

ok. so ive decided bewteen the firestone destinatin ats and the grabber at2s. which one would be better for overall driving because i dont offroad too often and need something that wont make my gas mileage any more terrible.

Well unless you get stock sized tires in a "P" load range either will reduce mpg's,though the Destination AT's will reduce them less.

By cutting fenders i mean splash guard in the corners in the front and also shave down some of the fender.
