UPDATE…it’s the ignition actuator pin! Help pls…Ignition actuator, ignition lock cylinder or ignition switch ???

Ok I have a 07 Liberty Limited kj. The other morning I went out to leave and the ignition just free rotated. The lights on the dash were all on so I know it’s not the battery or anything like that. Is it the ignition actuator or the ignition lock cylinder? Or ignition switch ??? Thank you in advance for any help. It’s much appreciated!

Probably the actuator. But if you're ordering parts from Amazon, you could get all 3 with free returns and return what you end up not needing. There are plenty of YouTube videos on replacing them.

More info on the problem would help. Ignition just rotated free is kinda vague. Does the ignition when turned to start do nothing, but dash lights are normal? Did you try shifting from park to neutral and trying to start it? Also shift to neutral then back to park and try it. Could be the neutral switch is not working.

@trailside Thank you for responding, I did go ahead and ordered the actuator pin. Like I mentioned before,my ignition lock cylinder freely rotates and the lights/sounds are all there. It’s like the vehicle is turned on but not running(best way I can describe it) I hope to goodness it’s not the ilc bcz they are not cheap! But anywho-thank you again for replying. Missy

@nmbluept thank you so much for responding, I truly do appreciate it. Yes my ignition rotates freely and yes lights/sound are on. When turn to start it does nothing. I did not try putting it to any gears. So you think it cld be the steering column ignition switch actuator? Not the actuator pin or the ignition lock cylinder? Again thank you-Missy

UPDATE…I took everything apart and it was the ignition actuator pin! Thank you to everyone that responded, I greatly appreciate y’all!
