Timing Chain tensioner Question

On the passenger side timing chain tensioner there is a little metal plate the goes underneath it.
Is there a similar plate on the drivers side tensioner????

Change out their tensioners

Lol, no its only on the one side, I never understood it either! I have replaced many of them.

Thanks for the reply!!!

I needed to get it back together so I went to a parts house and looked at both sides and sure enough only one side has the plate.

I needed to get it back together so I went to a parts house and looked at both sides and sure enough only one side has the plate.
I have a clicking sound from the engine and found a YouTube showing the plate was removed because it was restricting oil flow . The tensioner was bouncing up and down making the clock, when the plate was removed the tensioner was applying the proper pressure!
