I am thinking about a Liberty for a knock about vehicle. One to use when it's muddy or the snow gets too deep for the Wifes Camry, I'm not letting her have my 2014 Quad Cab TRD Tacoma. One local one is an 04 with 140K on it. It is in super condition and run pretty good, what are some things to look for? Thanks for any advice.

Welcome!

Here's my two cents. I am sure more people will chime in to help.

Check behind the spare for rust/damage.
Look for rust/bubbling around the 3rd tail light and rocker panels.
Check the bushings on lower control arm.
Look at the boot on the CV on the transfer case side of the front drive shaft.
Check the upper control arm in the rear (boomerang looking thing).
On the engine. Look for leaking oil from the oil pressure sensor (and other sensors).
Make sure the coolant is the right color (orange).
Also look for leaks in the top right of the radiator.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I know others will help! Also there is a ton of info on here! Read read read!

See if you can find out if any of the window regulators have been replaced. It hasn't happened to me, but that's a common thing to fail.

Good stuff here. Obviously check fluids to see that they look properly maintained (red fluid in trans, t-case, and power steering, gold in difs, clear brake fluid).

Best of luck with your purchase!! :)
