Finally scraped up the cash to re-gear to 4:10's and add a Detroit TrueTrac in the front D30a. Also replacing both CV axles. Found a great shop that is also fixing an improper set up on a Track Loc in the rear 8.25, and a failed transfer case sensor. So I wake up happy as a clam as it is due to be picked up today and I can start the break in period on the gears. At lunchtime I get a phone call that I also need a new passenger side intermediate shaft (which is OK, I thought i might need it) and there seems to be a power steering leak. I asked them to track it down for me and am awaiting their call back. I had the PS pressure hose replaced last year and the PS pump replaced 2 weeks ago by the stealership. I'm hoping it was something like a loose hose and not a bad steering rack. Fingers crossed as the wallet is already light from the re-gear.

In my opinion the stealer should fix the power steering for free. They already charged you and didn't fix it/made it worse.

He does not know what is leaking yet,if it's not the pump the dealer is not responsible and the OP never stated why the PS pump was replaced.

In 16 years in the auto repair field I have generally found once you fix one leak in a system another shows shortly after when you have 50k or more miles.Get's real bad after say about 150,000 miles. The fluids will always find the next weakest spot.

And all leaks end up draining the pocket book to some extent.

Yeah, leaks just don't go away.

I wonder how smittyfrompa is doing with the leak and if they found/fixed it yet?

This is true, but any time I get a leak on a Jeep I sit cross legged on the top of it and meditate removing all leaking thoughts from my mind.
    It seems to work......................

Thanks for all the posts and concerns. Leak was from a hose (not the high pressure hose) so all good. I pick it up tonight so i'll ask the shop exactly what it was.
