Got my summer job so it was time to do my yearly order.. hehe, I think I over did it.

You get a free duffle bag IF your order is over $100 WITHOUT shipping. I had it up to $80 something WITH shipping so I went ahead and added some more stuff to get it over $100.. I ordered it then noticed you must be over $100 WITHOUT shipping, so I sent him an email after calling the website all day but no one answered.. Soon as I sent the email he sent one back saying that he added the stuff I ask him to so I get the free Meguiars Duffel bag!!!!!!!!!!

LOL on the "be a man and sweat some". It's not the actual heat. It's the fact that the wax practically dries the second it hits the surface, even in the garage. Oh, and I'm expecting some good pictures of the Jeep after you use all this stuff. :)

well, it will be around 4 weeks before you get good pics.. Ill have around 3 weeks before fall classes start and you better bet its getting a FULL detail.. Im going to do the engine and underbody by hand.. AGAIN.. hehe

I can understand what you mean with the wax... There is a point where its hard to keep the paint cool enough..

It can take me around 2-3 days if I do EVERYTHING. Thats putting shine on the engine and underbody, cleaning EVERYTHING on the inside, claying, polishing, and wax*2 on the paint.. :D

yes, I have a L.O.S.T sticker on the back window, an ARB sticker on the passengers side rear window, and a K&N sticker on the back drivers side window... :)

so stickers on the windows only :D - i think you would be sick if you saw mine

I wish i had the patience to take 2-3 days with the liberty to clean it up, but damn, i dont even know where to start. I feel like i need to pull the carpet, steam clean seats, do something magical to the engine bay and underbody, whew, oh and the plastic on the thing is faded out (blarg)

funny thing is, i am OCD about my rovers being clean, for some reason i just cant get around to this thing, but want to!

Just close your eyes and repeat to yourself:

'It's a Jeep, it should be dirty'.

Do this as often as needed until the overwhelming urge to clean passes :p

Hey! Im doing better! It was over $300 last summer.. I was building up my stuff then though. :rolleyes:eek2dance.gif8-[

For you people that drink or smoke, how much do you spend on cigs or beer over the period of a year? I only buy things like this in the summer when I get a job.. So its usually once a year. Ill buy little things through-out the year, but nothing like this.. Maybe a bottle of bleche white when I need it.

oh
the worst part about cleaning supplies that I see, they are addictive. both to use, as well as the cars "need" for them

once you use a product, you feel like you need to do it again, also, the vehicle wants more of it, just to keep up to par from then on out. for example, if you use some 'mothers back to black' one some trim, it looks great, you are happy, but 5 days later you need more to make it keep the same look, and the car actually starts to get worse overtime, unless you put more on!

and the prices on these things, whew. I love to clean but most of the time it is kept to just plain old washing and drying off, just to keep crap off of it.

Well, I go alittle over board on the detailing. Its a BIG hobby of mine.. I drove for 5hours just to meet one of the main guys at Meguiars and to take a class he was giving..

To keep a vehicle looking good, there is a small list of things you need..

Inside:
-Glass cleaner of your choice
-Plastic and vinyl protectant
-Leather protectant if you have leather
-Towels to clean windows(I use Micro Fiber)
-Applicators to apply dash and leather protectant(I use meguiars even coat MF's)
-Vacuum cleaner
-Stuff to get stain out of carpet

Outside:
-Clay
-Good cleaner wax. This takes a three step process and puts it into one. Many people do not know that wax doesnt give shine, polish does. You must clean/prep(paint cleaner), polish, and wax to get a good finsh. Meguiars cleaner wax is a good strong cleaner wax and you can get it OTC..
-Tire shine and/or plastic protectant if needed for plastic
-Tire/Rim cleaner and brush
- Good 5gallon bucket, Car wash, mitt/sponge, drying towels(I use meguiars Waffle Weaves)
-Applicators and towels to apply and remove wax. Again, I use Meguiars Micro Fibers towels and even coat applicators.

Around $100-150 worth of stuff depending on what brands you get..

Sorry, I got carried away..

WoW...all I use is car wash soap, a sponge and a hose. I don't have enough patience to wax, polish and clay the whole body. I just going to get it dirty again within the next 24 hours.

EDIT: Oh ya, sometimes I use a tire/wheel spray to clean my black steel wheels.

If my paint doesnt bead when it rains then I have a bad day.. haha.. So I try to clay/clean/polish/ wax*1 at least twice a year with many waxes between that..

I also use Meguiars Ultimate quik detailer which gives an insane amount of protection and beading/sheeting..
