So I took the bleep in for a wheel alignment the other day and was told they couldn't do it because there is to much wear in the rack bushes. Being typical Oz no one has a part listing so I went to rockauto and ordered the only thing that was on the list. It would appear that these are for the rack mounts. My question is how common is it for these to wear out?

The drivers side rack bushing I now cover with wide duct tape to prevent oil from spilling onto the bushing, when changing the oil filter.
Any oil or contaminants eats them up quickly.
Mine have been changed a few times but mainly the drivers side, lifting the KJ may also be part of the problem...
I've used the Dealer rack busing and they all seem to be the same in quality.
I now just use the Napa part number as below.

Ya toss the service manual...They can be replaced within about 1.5 hours and there is no need to remove the entire rack to replace the bushings.
Are both sides bad?

It generally best to refer to them as passenger side or drivers side.

lol my passenger side and yours are opposite I'm in Oz.

This is why it is actually better to refer left and right. Driver position has no effect then.

As most know, but some will not, left and right side are referred to as you are sitting in the vehicle.

Less time than that for me. Once the rack bolts were out, only fingertip pressure to re & re.
