I have a 2002 Liberty 3.7. Engine has 40k miles, trans is original with 120k miles. Fluid has been changed in past. Has anyone had to get their transmission solenoid pack replaced? My trans currently starts off in 2nd gear, shifts to 3rd & stays there. Doesn’t shift further, even on highway. Sent an engineer light also. Trans shop says a new solenoid pack will fix problem. A $700 job cost using a dealer part (about $400) & labor to install. Anyone else experience this? Thanks.....Mike

Welcome to the forum.
Instead of guessing what's wrong (parts cannon method) the computerized 45RFE (2002) model, should be scanned for the stored OBD2 P codes.
Hopefully the codes may summarize what is wrong. Post the stored codes back please.

Yeah that RFE should be spitting all kinds of codes starting with P0700 and going from there if it's acting like that. Did the trans shop pull the codes to come to that conclusion?
