Does anyone have any experience with SKYJACKER lifts? All of my friends have Wranglers (I'm the only one with what they call the "Baby Jeep") and they swear by SKYJACKER. I checked out the site and I see that they have a good looking coil lift. Any feedback is welcomed.

If i wasn't mistaken I thought skyjacker had balljoint issues.

I would recommend the rusty's kit or the frankenlift.

Lifts

I hacve heard in the other forums that the frankenlift has UBJ contact too, I have rusty's with a 5/8 clevis lift and still have not had any contact yet. On the other hand maybe I am just lucky or I am just not hard enough on my KJ.

Thanks guys for the lo-down on skyjacker. One more question...if I get a 2.5" lift (coils) is it possible to put a puck spacer lift in on top of that to get a bigger lift? Thanks again

a couple of ppl have fabricated bump stops on skyjacker lifts. the frankenlift has sky jacker rears and i beleive rusty's front....
and..i dont think that would be a good idea, the cv angles would really be bad, and possibly give you bigger headaches

Well, against the thoughts of others, I went ahead and got a Skyjacker platinum lift today. It costs more than Rusty's, but I was able to justify it because I do not know Rusty's and who makes their lifts. They say they make their own shocks, but I bet that is not likely. Skyjacker has been making lifts for years and they are a big company that is able to stand behind their product's performance. If something goes wrong, I can trust that it will be fixed. Sorry to those who told me to go with the Rusty's O:) . Next, I need to get some bigger tires (BFG ATs). One mod at a time!

hey, ultimately it comes down to who's paying for it....LOL
let us know how it all goes.....and if u come across any issues..

me personally, i like the sky jacker...sounds cool to when u say 'my jeep is skyjakked 2.5 inches...' instead of 'i got a 2.5" lift...' LOL

I'll be sure to let you know how it goes. I also liked saying that my Jeep Liberty is SKYJACKED! It sounds better! Lol. Anyways I will try and provide all the info I can because I think I am the only one in this forum with a Skyjacker lift. I'll also tell everyone about my new TOYO ATs.

yeh please do. it's one of the lifts i was thinking about, either that or the frankenlift...

just read up at JU for any issues....
i've read like a few people with em, had to make bumpstops to prevent the cv from hitting the control arm or something (it's really sketchy, cuz i really didnt pay attention to it much at the time)....but it's like a really simple fix, takes about 10 minutes to do...from what i gather

Please do let us know indeed. I was pretty much undecided between Rusty all spring lift, the Frankenlift and the Platinum Skyjacker lift. Primarily interested in the Skyjacker just because the local 4 Wheel Parts super store carrys this kit.

They claim to beat any advertised price by the way, anyone know where you might find this kit cheaper than $556.00?????

This is the description for it on there website www.4wheelparts.com
02-04 Liberty 2.5" Platinum Linear Scoil System Includes; Front Coils, Platinum Monotube Shocks, Bump Stop Spacers,
SKYLIB250K

If you find a cheaper price you can save some bucks by the sounds of it though. I dont have a garage anymore either so this would be cool. The other local shop I stopped at for me here in PDX area wants $390 to install a kit I buy somewhere else. Kinda high in price I think.

Well Captain Zippy, welcome to the Forum.

You actually sound like you got a good deal. My SKYJACKER Platinum cost me $1100 for kit, installation and balancing. Rusty's is a good lift from what I hear, but I would personally trust the SKYJACKER because it is a large brand name company with lots of support if things go crazy! It includes the front coils and the rear coils as well as many options for the front and rear shocks (ditch the factory ones!)

Also, it says that you can run a 31" tire, but I am running a 32" with just a little trimming to get rid of the rubbing! I would reccommend talking with your 4x4 specialist to see what he can do for you as far as tires because it is possible to get the tires cheaper elsewhere, but you gotta give your locals some business (plus they are very knowledgable on everything 4x4!)

Well, after careful consideration and numerous phone calls "Big thanks going out to All J products very cool people there yup!" I have decided to go with the OME setup. I found a local dealer who can install the entire OME kit, reallignment the works for around $900 bucks total and these guys really know what they are doing to say the least after looking at some of their other rigs.

The guys at all J's rock though as even though I decided to go with someone else he gave me TONS of good advide about my use of the KJ etc in making my decision.

Still interested in how your Skyjacker turns out though KJliberator and looking forward to your pics.

Well Congrats on your lift Capt. Z! I will definitely post some pics! You should get some up there too!

KJLIBERATOR

p.s. is the OME a puck kit or coils (let us know how it turns out)?

Yup its all new OME coils, shocks, struts, etc. A complete new suspension system kinda like Rustys Coil lift I think from what I have heard. I dont get off road as much as I do on road but wanted the lift to fit the new Rubicon tires under there so the OME should work out excellent for me. Three individual dealers told me the same thing about the OME, that its the best full suspension lift all around but it wont put me up over that 2" mark. Many choose to risk possible problems with going over the 2" mark but the problems are minor in most cases and its worth it for the added articulation etc. Guess im just not that darring LOL. If I got offroad more I would go with a different kit I think.

I will be sure to post pics too KJlib! The first date the shop I am working with locally had for install isnt until the 20th thru the 23rd though so its going to be a few weeks or so.

Anyone heard anything about the BDS lift. Local 4x4 shop here was recommending it, expensive, wants about a grand for it. 2" is all the lift. Only thing is jeep dealer tells me won't accept my warranty on suspension anymore. don't know what to do. feedback is welcome.

Oh yeah, put my flowmaster on today and it sounds great and better throttle response. \:D/
