Hey Guys,

Am thinking it might be nice to replace the front seats from my 02 liberty. They are looking a bit worn and something a bit more comfy might be nice (perhaps with the adjustable head rest too).

So, anyone know if Chrysler use the same car seats in other cars and if its an easy job to swap them out? My local scrap yard does not have any liberty's - but they have a load of Cherokee's as well as a good selection of other Chrysler vehicles.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Lots of people have changed out their seats with liberty seats from other years, but I haven't heard of anyone using cherokee or wrangler seats.

I always thought seats from a PT Cruiser would be nice. Leather heated seats were very common in the Limited edition.

I don't know but I'm glad you asked. I want to do the same change out. It's hard to find Leather Taupe 02 Libby driver seat. Besides, I would be happy to get free and clear of that manual recline leaver problem. A good number of poeple have had the leaver mechanism break. Mine is broken now. Let me know what you find out. Newer the better.

Look at those, Real seats*

*I'm not a fan fo Corbeau Seats...

They've hurt my anatomy on off road ralley stages.
(I'm not saying they are bad, but they just didn't work for me!)
So, in other words, why would you spend your momey on "Factory
automotive seats from another make of model vehicle when there
is so to choose from in the aftermarker sector!

Are you wanting brand new seats, or is your foam, etc getting thin? Take a read here, I just did this to my Ram not too long ago. It's cheap and easy to do. If not, I have heard the 02-04 seats are a little thicker/comfy than the 05-07 seats. I have also seen a BUNCH of 09-10 seat sets on ebay lately.

I'm just going to recover my seats with extra pleating foam to soften them up next year... not seat covers... reupholstery, and then you can go leather, or tweed, or velour, or whatever you want... and it'll be a direct bolt-in when I am done!

Check out Katzkin. Most estimates I've seen put a totally custom interior at about the same price as a leather upgrade from the factory. Depends on if you are wanting a whole new frame or not though.
