Ya seems pretty easy...but why not show it...
You can get your fingers in the rear to pull the bulb socket directly backwards.
Mine seemed glued in there, so a Q-tip and a hint of Vaseline on the socket prongs was applied, for easier removal next time.
Some burning is taking place on the inside lens, where clearance is minimal.

Try to use LL (long Life) bulbs when replacing.
LED would be a better choice here as cooler running and no burning.

I recommend to change a bulb to LED, since Chrysler plastic material tends to melt.

I have the same problem with center brake light. Plastic there is already melted, and it will burn, eventually. So, I've replace most of my KJ's bulbs for LEDs.

ps: sorry for hands, these photos were taken not for public demonstration.
