So the Liberty I recently purchased came with 4 keys- 2 plastic keys and 2 valet keys. I'd like to get a remote for this car and it seems I can buy one off ebay, have it cut to my lock using my existing key and then program it to the car myself? Are these keys worth buying, and is my analysis accurate? Also, I'm pretty sure I don't have remote start on my Liberty Sport so it appears the keys with a remote start button wouldn't be useful, correct?

I just did these a few weeks ago: https://www.ebay.com/itm/312744949652 Had no issues at all doing the programming at home. The locksmith said it might be that it wouldn't program the buttons - only the chip, but that wasn't the case. These worked same as factory and seem to be of decent quality.

I just replaced my key FOB's on my 2010 Liberty from wwww.remotesremotes.com price was good and their website had exact instructions to program the new FOB if old FOB active. One of my FOBs was dead. Programing took less than one minute. New FOBs even came with batteries installed.
