Rear glass lift struts - bracket

I searched and found nothing, but I’m not sure what they are really called, so sorry to start a new thread. I figure this must be a common problem...
My friend recently bought an 02 Liberty, and it is missing both lift struts on the rear glass, probably because both upper mounts have the ball broken off.
I can get replacement struts easy enough, but what can I do about that ball mount?
It looks like I could maybe drill out the ball stud and put a new one in, instead of trying to replace the complete bracket, but is that part even available?

I was thinking you will need to drill it as you suggest. A welder might could fashion something for you. It seems to me like you might just drill through it and the shock.

SW7M5 is the size I used.search in mounts and brackets.
