God I love the sound of diesel...
^^Finished the sentence for you...LOL
$75 bucks to fill the tank from E though haha
I'm not a fan of timing belts...
Gonna go drive this tomorrow.
I'm not a huge fan of the color (rather have Charcoal or White) But it's a Laredo with Quadratrac 2 and pretty low miles.
Very nice house. Even has the master suite!
Plasti Dip it!
(Looks good, by the way!)
All the chrome will get Plasti-dipped.
IMO, chrome is for motorcycles and has no place on a Jeep:icon_razz:
Where's the badges?
Has the back one but good eye on the others.
That's not a badge. It's part of the lightbar.
Good eye? You do realize that I build these for a living, right? lol3.gif
...probably had my hands on one of the underbody parts. Shocks, maybe exhaust hangers, wiring harness, tunnel pad...something. I know a *ton* of jobs on the line.
I do. Doesn't mean you don't have one! :icon_razz:
I wonder if it's been repainted or something? Probably not but I'd be checking the door edges for a paint line.
Badges? We don't need no stinking badges.:icon_razz:
Yeah, I did notice yesterday that it has been "de-badged":sad72: I'll add new (black) badges if I buy it.
The window tint is really dark too, so at least the front ones will get removed.
Didn't get done with the test drive until after dark, so I didn't get a real good chance to crawl around it as much as I would have liked.
I did take it off tarmac and got it a bit muddy (saleman wasn't real happy, but I said I was going to be using it as a JEEP)
I did notice a clicking up front when in the sloppy stuff, I'm guessing that is the QT2 working? Gonna call a few people today and pick their brains about that.
It still has to have WI DOT inspection, and I'm gonna go crawl around it more today before I sign papers. But if everything pans out, I'll probably get it.
Probably that's all it was...that's how my KL and LR3 are when the TC starts doing its magic.
That's what is sounds like HJ. A co-worker works with Jeep Jamboree and called a couple guys he knows. They said it's the ABS/traction control system working.
I stopped and gave it a final inspection today. Noticed the front bumper fascia was loose on the passenger side. That and the window tint will be taken care of tomorrow. We ran the numbers and I told them I'd sleep on it and let them know in the morning.
I'll be keeping the KJ for now (they only offered $700 in trade.) A friend's son might buy it. But otherwise I can probably get twice that if I sell it outright.
Does it have the air suspension?
I'd actually be fine either way on those. I love the air suspension on the LR3.
WK is slowly becoming acceptable...
Went to the local pick 'n pull and got the appropriate Homelink module for $5, roof rails and crossbars for $30, and tow hooks for $8. Homelink is installed, rails will be installed this weekend, and tow hooks whenever I feel like yanking the bumper.
Added in heated seats and found a nice place for the switches.
Added in factory fogs and the OE multifunction switch and micro-relay (got new fogs for Christmas, switch was $15 from pick 'n pull). Supposed to meet up with someone that has a StarScan this afternoon to get the BCM reprogrammed so it'll work like factory - also going to set it to "export" so I can have fogs on with high beams 'cause why not?
Lastly, ordered another of those Chinese Android HU's specific for the Jeep - I have a generic one in the Camaro and I like it well enough. I look forward to having Bluetooth and being able to stream music. Nav and Torque will be icing on the cake.
Next up - desperately needs brakes as they are warped, and the stock suspension doesn't feel great at 61k miles. Thinking new brakes and OME MD's with either Bilstein 5100's or the OME shocks. I also have 2 tires with "slow" leaks that seem to be getting worse. So, 255/75-17's and potentially some new rims may be in order after the lift. I do want factory skids too.
What tires are you thinking about getting? Can't wait to see it with the lift! Never got around to lifting mine, but thought they always looked so much better with a slight lift.
Not sure - as cheap as they are, I do really like the Cooper AT3's. Had them on the KJ for a bit before I sold it, I have them on the Yukon right now. May throw them on this thing as well.
This thing will probably rarely, if ever, go offroad, but I am moving to a more rural location and dirt road livin'. I'd like a little more ground clearance, and definitely better tires. Plus, let's be honest - like you pointed out, lift and some larger tires make it look SO much better. I'll admit that I consider form in addition to function. Just call it mall-rated
