Thanks HJ. I pulled them and sanded and painted them last fall. They are still leaning against the wall in the garage:emotions34:

Sharp truck. A guy in my neighborhood has one just like it except white, it's got the 3.0 diesel too. I'm assuming he likes it, seems to drive it a lot!

Ya I am thinking it's time. My 125lb puppy is quickly outgrowing the back seat.

Warren Truck was so irritated after the whole FCA diesel debacle had finally blown over. The company sent diesel after diesel down the line to make up for lost time, working OT and extra Sundays. The gas trucks are much easier to build. I know when I was on the line, the diesel Grand Cherokees annoyed me too. Nothing is worse when you walk in on an easy 3.6L day and all of a sudden, you get hit with 5.7, 3.0, 5.7, 3.6, 3.0, 5.7, 3.0, 5.7, 3.0, 3.6, 3.6, 5.7, 3.0, 3.0, 2.9, 5.7

    blah blah blah.

    Totally blows the mood. lol3.gif

That's another reason why the engine option costs more... we have to do more work. :D

I figured as much but it is good to hear from a insider. Ya this 2017 didn't get delivered until either December or January. The dealer is taking a hit at the listed price never mind what I am beating him down to.

It didn't just get delivered until December or January, it wasn't BUILT until late in the 2017 model year. I heard all about what WTAP was going through.

Sorry, but 125 lbs and puppy don't belong in the same sentence :Insane:

I've already paid $4,500 in federal, state, SS/Medicare and Local taxes this year and it's not even March. :(

You posted that just to be at the top of Page 5000, didn't you? ;-)

So, my update.... don't think I mentioned it on here, but the wife hit black ice in the Yukon a couple of weeks ago and ended up going off the road, through a fence, down an embankment, and up against a tree. Good thing, because if the tree wasn't there she would have slid into the river. Scary for them (kids were with her), but at the end of the day it was a relatively minor accident and the 'ol hoopty (2003 Yukon) took it like a pro once again. I really love that thing, it's just....solid.

$1000 in tow/recovery fees later, it was sitting at the collision shop. I have an agreed upon policy for it. Damage appraiser is lazy, took a look at it, and declared it totalled. I don't think he spent any time looking it over in detail. I went to look at it, and realistically, it needs a hood, bumper, grill, lights, and a fender as it was mildly tweaked. Fender could arguably be saved. Trans cooler was damaged, but A/C condenser, Radiator, and core support all seem fine. Keep in mind, this stuff was all new (except hood/fender) after I smacked into the deer in Nov.

So, I priced it out and other than the hood/fender, I believe I can get it on the road for <$750 if I am patient and get a used hood and fender at the pick 'n pull. I can get new bumper/grill/lights at that price. Salvage buyout was $1200.

So, I now will keep the truck, repair it, and pocket a nice chunk of cash. I'll have the truck back in the condition it was pre-accident for $2k out of pocket.

Will also address a few of the other things it needs. As it sits, it has 138k on it. I honestly expect to get another 100k out of it as long as I keep it maintained and don't let it rust away.

I felt justified to then order heated seats for the WK. Will be ordering an Android HU as well. Come spring it'll get a lift and some man-tires. And I'll STILL have plenty left over from the insurance check :)

    Glad to hear they're ok!

Bodyshops can be rip offs...exactly three years ago to the date someone smacked the garage door opening with the passenger front fender on the WK. Damaged the fender pretty good. Got a few quotes from a couple different shops, all wanted about $2000. Didn't want to turn it into insurance. Found a matching fender for $200 at some junkyard in Tennessee. Took an hour to swap it out and was better that in it was. Discovered it wasn't the first time it had a new fender put on. :blah:
