    When it rains it pours...

Went to run an errand yesterday, came back and noticed my garage door didn't open all the way. I noticed when I was backing up and got closer, due to the slight incline. There was also this loud clank noise. Called the cops, first looked like someone backed into my door. Once we got it down, someone tried to pry it open. This was between 6:30PM-7:30PM, still daylight. The wheels on the rail were off, bracket bent. Filed police report and checked rest of house. My father in law came over and we fixed the bracket and put the wheel back on. So garage door opens/closes. Tuesday going to contact garage door company for quote to fix damage/inspect the rest. My wife is now paranoid, since we live in a nice community, with no troublemakers or theft. She's insisting on a house alarm.

Then today, doing the oil change on my Jeep, then tire rotation on my wife's KK. Got my oil done, then rotated her tires. I go to remove the stand in the rear and noticed something odd. There's this big gap where her spare tire should be... someone stole it. Since my dad lifted the rear, I didn't notice right away until the end. Even with the "lock". So the cut the wire that lowers the spare and broke the lock. She has the Jet Edition Liberty, she's been wanting some soft 8's with A/T. Guess it will be coming sooner than later lol... Glad we didn't discover it was gone, when we needed it. We're guessing it hapened at her job, since she works nightshift as a registered nurse.

Jaber, been there, done that. Mom got paranoid after someone broke into a neighbor's house a few years ago. We had been there for nearly 2 decades. She got her house alarm, and all the while placing the signs everywhere. I told her watch, someone's going to break in the house now, they see there's an alarm and that screams "Hey! I got stuff!"

    Well guess what?

Less than a year later... yup. It happened.

Crime is everywhere, you can't escape it, doesn't matter what neighborhood you live in.

So I'm in the garage and in the corner of my eye, I see flashing lights. Yup, someone else getting pulled over yet again. Oh boy. Can you say traffic violation?

I'd imagine changing the entire cord out for a 3 prong would be your best option. Is it for a Dryer?

Oven. House is rented, otherwise ThunderbirdJunkie would just swap the outlet for a 4 prong, and ThunderbirdJunkie's not doing a damn bit of work to a rented house :p

Storms starting to roll through the area. Blowing like crazy, thunder, ightning, a bit of hail a few minutes ago. Glad I got the garage cleaned up so I can get the KJ back in.

So sick of rain. All weekend just raining off and on. No miles on the scoot.

On a good note, the interview for the possible new job went well.

On a better note. Game 7 Blackhawks vs Red Wings tonight.

    GO HAWKS

Alright welding masters. Critique me again. From right to left I have at all the same V, spool speed 30, 35, and 40. I noticed with too much wire speed it just pops and jumps. I just welded to pieces of angle together in a T. Bent it both ways three times until it broke loose. How am I doing?

Looks better than some of the welding that I've seen "pros" do. I like slow welding to make it "look like dimes laying over"

Looks like your using flux core. I'd use solid core with some shielding gas. But if you slow down a bit and watch the "puddle" to keep it a slight oval and do circles with the puddle you can get some beautiful welds.

Key to welding is just to watch that puddle behind your wire and keep it consistent.

    Hope that helps

Yea the flux really make a mess and is hard to see the welds without whacking with a hammer. I'm using the Hobart handler 125. I'll definitely slow down. I'm trying yo find the right distance that I should be holding at, and pretty much just making long strips. Thanks!!
