    Thanks!
I was working in Albuquerque one weekend, and decided to stay an extra couple of days - so I drove almost 4 hours south to get sunset photos. Too bad there was more sand storm than sunset. But that place is fantastic... if you guys ever get down that way, you have to take a look.

    Oh, that's beautious.

I'd forgotten about this thread, 'til I saw that. I got this just recently and really liked how it made me feel - while I was there a couple weeks ago and while I was developing it last night.

Dang, you guys are artists with your cameras. I really love looking at your pics - they always capture a mood, a sign of excellent composition.

    Thanks for posting them...

That's Thompson Valley Ranch, just east of Quincy, CA. They raise some of the best beef cattle I've ever ate. About a year ago, I captured another view that includes that tree.

Did a quick trip up to Porcupine Mountains State Park near Ontonagon, MI a couple weekends ago... to break the monotony. And because, at just under 6 hours, it's the closest Dark Sky area near me. :( I wanted to practice shooting the night sky.

A couple of daytime shots inside the park...

And one of the night sky shots that I've gotten around to processing (I still have more, but lack time)...

That reminded me of a photo I made long before I knew how to use Photoshop and even before I knew what Lightroom was. I think I developed this with Corel Paintshop Pro or something like that and it was shot with a fixed lens Olympus camera I used to document flooring jobs I was on. I just used Photoshop on it a minute ago to resize it - lucky too because it looks pretty horrible at full-size (about twice this size). Not that it's all that great at this size. :O

I've been shooting since around 1990. My friends and I took up photography and soon enough I was studying it in California during the '90's. I've gotten into videography and love what the DSLR did for video. Here is some examples of my work.

I took these while working at a customs shop in Texas. My video work can be found on YouTube. Just look up Angelis Digital or goto angelisdigital.com.

    Wow!! Great pictures, y'all!!

I've had a DSLR (Nikon D3000) for about 5 years and am certainly an amateur with it. I usually use the camera's automatic settings since I don't know much about the manual stuff. Every now and then I tackle night stuff- fireworks, blood moons, eclipses, etc. Certainly wish I knew more about photography but haven't made time for it. Don't have any photo editing software, either.

Here's a decent one I got at the Tulsa fireworks -

    Another neat one-

Just a few more, since pictures are fun. We had an impressive ice storm in Oklahoma about 4 years ago. It made for downed power lines & some cool pictures. That was pre-Jeep days for me- oh the places I could have gone had she been around!
