I've progressed a bit in the last 4 months of having the DSLR, with a lot of thanks going to people on forums like this for advice/insight.

So, let's post our photography-related questions, equipment, techniques, etc. here. Also use the space to display some of your pictures for the other forum members to see.

    :D

I took this one yesterday - I was pleased with the amount of detail since he is in-flight.

Nice pic. What was your shutterspeed to stop the in-flight motion?

First rule, do not modify the exif data of the image after fiddling with your picture, so curious minds like Dave can check it himself. ;)

    YC,
We had two full blown photography threads, might want to search for that as well.

Actually it is good that the data is modified/deleted.

I don't modify exif data. I make little exposure/color tweaks to the image in Lightroom, but that's it.

I did check around for other photo threads... but nothing was recent (2006) and/or suitable to move into the 'Hobby' section. I thought putting something here might make it easier for people (me :p) to find it, without reviving old threads.

    1/500

I did have to bring up the exposure a bit for color clarity... but didn't want to go overboard and wash the sky out in the background.

Yeah, but the exif was stripped when you saved it. :disgust:

Beautiful! Birds are by far the most challenging subjects.

I keep all my originals though... and still have the exif info from that.

I was just out the other day bombing around in the Jeep taking photos. All and all it was a pleasant way to spend a day. Here are a few I liked. Haven't done anything to them yet, straight from the camera.

Nice shot of the Cardinal, YC! Birds are tough subjects.

Yes I know it's blurred ;) but I really like this shot...

They really are. I got that shot by accident. Initially, there were 2 (male and female) sitting on a branch to the right of the image - that's what I was trying to get. :p I liked the shot I got better.

I got this one the same day - wild turkey! There were 8-10 of them crossing the road. This one was the last, or 2nd to last one... I missed the rest while rummaging for the camera.

The is a picture from our Verde Canyon Railroad trip last year. The canyon wall is being reflected off of the river. The image was taken from the moving train. I have an image with an eagle in it but it is just a blurry whit spot. My 24-70 lense just couldn't reach that far. The image was cropped because the original was 5616 x 3744.
