Ok just finished suspension lift, or at least thought I did. Passenger side sounds like the axle is rubbing/hitting or something. 4x4 does engage and axle turns. The CV knuckle did slip out during the lift work, and did not easily go back into place. Also the CV appears to be a repair from before I bought it. Inspecting it I notice the ball joint grease zerk looks like it's hitting the axle.(replacing with moog soon. Front is OME 2927, with Bilsteins 24 139168, and JBA UCAs. I also added 2-2" conduit nuts as clevis spacers. 1- I don't think this lift takes me too high to need a differential drop or longer CV axles, Right?? 2- if so, is the Clevis lift enough to go over the 3.5" I desired? 3- it shows a gain of 6" but the camber is way off and the 31-10.50- 15s were on when I took the after measurements, instead of the originals that were on with the before. Was expecting to gain 3-3.5" not sure if the camber and tires are supplying those additional 2.5". Any additional help/ tips would be appreciated Also- I am replacing the Axle with a Napa Reman. And hope it helps.
dOES THE lbj GREASE ZERK COME OUT ON THE FRONT OR ON TOP, OF ON TOP ( THE ONLY WAY IT WOULD HIT THE CV ) I If so then wrong LBJ 6 inches LOL Measure from middle of the left front to the bottom of the Flare It should be 20.5 if you got a good alignment since KKs stock are 18 inch from factory Its not too high, I've ran over 100,000 miles with 4.5 inches of lift on the 04 , no cradle drop, no extended CVs etc
The zerk does come out on top, I got moogs coming in soon. Will definitely measure with those parameters. I have not got the alignment, will do after I put some more parts on. I appreciate the reply, starting to feel better about the alignment being the factor. Another question, Would adding a top plate Spacer be ok with this setup? I think it will level out the front better. Since I'll be only 4 bolts away replacing tie rods, and bAll joints, i,d like to do it all at once before the alignment. Thanks
Someone installed the wrong LBJs ! Is there a reason that you want a certain height ? It should sit level if you used the right spring combo , if not something wrong Until you get an alignment you have no idea how much lift you actually have
I've seen a few that have the 3.5 -4", and they look alright. I have a set of 31 10.50s to put on. I'm hoping to do some weekend adventures with some buddies, and want to have something for a deer camp we have in Tionesta, PA. Mostly trails, and minor off road.
To run that much lift you need several more items to make it work then you would want to run bigger tires and with that would require a regear Lots easier to lift a KJ than a KK over a certain
On a KK, to lift the rear over 2.5 inches or so it requires longer sway bar links plus a longer track bar , if you do not use them it pulls the body over towards drivers side , which in turn lets it run down the road almost sideways Staying at 2.5 you will be ok, off a small amount but will run
Sorry Tommudd, I'm lifting a KJ, 03 Liberty Renegade . Sorry I did not put that info in OP. Does that make a difference in the rear lift??
Well since you posted in the KK section, I assumed , ............BUT yes makes a difference of course as I wrote above but the larger tires and regearing stay the same
