My overdrive off button stopped working. Is there a sensor, switch or fuse that i should change out?

Don't go ahead of yourself as asking what to replace. That's what's wrong with people. First, start off by telling us which year jeep you have

Does the OD off light come on? Or does the light come on but there's no difference with it on or off?

No the light does not come on at all and pressing the button makes no changes in turning the overdrive off.

Could be the switch. What is your rpm reading at 40 mph?

or it could be a blown instrument cluster bulb.

do the instrument test to easily eliminate that possibility.
press and hold the trip button on the instrument cluster then turn key to the on position.

That switch is hard to "replace" may have to get a whole new shifter assembly

OP Did you end up finding out the problem? I recently acquired a 2002 3.7 and have this same problem. I am fairly certain that O/D does engage, as when I am using cruise control and start down a long hill I notice the trans downshift to maintain my speed, presumably this is shifting from 4-3.

Did they still have this option in '07?

Thanks!

It downshifting on a long hill is different than you manually pushing the button to turn on or off the overdrive
