Ordered all OME parts for the lift, 927/731 springs and 90009/60069 shocks. Also putting on 245/75/16 tires with some black rock wheels (4in backspace). I have an install guide I got off Lostjeeps. Anything I need to watch out for? How is the rake compared to stock? Currently from hub to fender flare, I'm at 18 in the front and 19.25 inch in the back. I think the stock rake looks fine, but if it looks wrong lifted how would I correct it? I have experience lowering cars, but lifting anything is new to me. Planning a re-gear to 4.10s in the future, most likely with lockers.
If after the lift you are front-high or have no rake (level, but you want to raise the rear so you have one), you can stack up to 2 extra spring isolators on top of the rear springs for some extra height. They can get you maybe another inch. Be sure you have hockey pucks bolted to your lower spring perches to help your bump stops. If it’s the other way around (front too low compared to the rear), you can do up to a 3/8” clevis lift and gain 3/4” of an inch or so. (Every unit of height you add at the front springs becomes double at the wheels due to the IFS geometry.) Don’t extend the clevis more than is safe. I *think* 3/8” is the most you can do, but Tommudd and others should correct me if I’m wrong. Note: if you’re at 3” or more of lift at the front, you’ll need JBA upper control arms to be able to get a good alignment.
Thanks! I still need to order pucks. They will get here before all the other parts thanks to amazon. I am hoping its one and done without spacers. Don't want to go beyond the OME height.
Should sit level as it should have from the factory with no additions also on wheels, 7 inches wide ? If so ok
Hardest part was the front. I broke a set of spring compressors (they were ancient) and pinched my finger hard under a complete coilover. The dust cover part was a tight fit with the replacement compressors, but it flexed fine. No regrets though, I would do it again!
Nice job. Just curious did you buy the lift as a kit, if so from where? I can only find one from 4x4OK but it doesn't come in a kit. Looks like you can only buy the part separately. https://4x4ok.com/old-man-emu-suspension-lift-kit-kk/ Looks like Rocky Road has a kit but otherwise finding much for the KK has been a challenge. Thanks.
Many places sell OME set ups but they also include shocks for the rear that are too short Buy the springs and then the shocks separately either OME or Bilstein with rear shocks being either OME132Ls or Bilstein 24-185660
