Ontario #402 Blizzard-Hundreds of Motorists-Stranded Then Rescued!

Highway 402 is still closed 3 days later, as snow squalls continue.
Ever heard of meters of blinding snow blocking your view then too deep to continue? Like getting stuck in your car overnight in freezing temps-Yeiks!
Ya they should have closed the highway sooner.
State of emergency (military) called out to rescue the stranded truckers, SUV,
with helicopters/snowmobiles. Many farm owners take stranded motorists in as they run out of fuel overnight trying to stay warm.
Suddenly Florida sounds good.

They did close it sooner but alot of people drove around the road blocks.

They finally got everyone out but it'll be a few days to clear e highway and get all the vehicles out.

That's insane, and the road is still closed?. Glad everyone was rescued.

I'm about an hour and a half south.

They have the east bound lanes re-opened, but it's ice covered and the opp doesn't recommend traveling on it. West bound is gonna be another day or so since that's where all the abandoned cars and trucks are still buried.
