power train will not cover the oil plug called 3 dealers .... oh well

Have you been doing the oil changes yourself, or taking it somewhere? If you took it somewhere, bring it back to them and make them replace it. If you have a receipt from the last oil change they cannot deny they did the work, however if you don't, you would probably be in their computer system, and they should be able to look it up.....if they're even the least bit decent of a shop.

Ditto on that.........and when you get it back start doing the oil changes yourself. It's not that hard. I've done much worse.

Did you buy it used private party or from a dealer/used car lot? If private party, I would get in contact with the person you bought it from and see if they have a record of where they took it to get changed, or if they did it themselves. If you bought it from a dealer/car lot, chances are they changed the oil before they put it on the lot (if it was from a dealer i'm almost certain they did) and I would go after them.

This seems to be a common issue on the CRD's.....interesting.

Fumotos are awesome!

I ended up buying a new oil pan ($800) and installing a fumoto oil drain.

Ditto on the Fumoto. I installed one on the oil pan, another on the t-case, and a third on the ****** pan. The one on the ****** pan took some threadlock and JB Weld, but it's holding up pretty well. These things are great!
