ThunderbirdJunkie is digging the LH-platform-car spare!

No, he's being serious...

It doesn't look LOWERED like all stock KJs do to ThunderbirdJunkie...did you clevis it and add isolators or something?

Not the mountains.
Very nice ride. I almost went with a black Liberty but then my brain said there's no way you'll be able to keep it clean for more than an hour.:D

And I see you're in Elmhurst. I used to work there, and lived in St. John, IN....miss it.

The previous owner bent the 5th Limited alloy wheel and replaced it with that cheap crap.

No. Nothing has been done to the suspension as far as lifting. The KJ build date is Sept 2001 so (as you know) that makes it a "pre-lowered" model, and from what I was told, the springs & shocks are original. I guess they've held up well considering Just today the odo rolled over to 90,000 miles.

Nice! What size tire is that?
255/70R/16. The only rub (when new) was at full lock on the fog light door. I determined this from the light scuff marks on the plastic fog light doors.

I edited the original post with mods / current to-do tasks / future mod plans.

Thanks everyone for the positive replies.

Thanks.

You know, I'd never buy a new Jeep in black if I planned to wheel it (off-road), but they are the best looking KJ's, especially when clean!

Mine is full of trail rash but you don't notice it until you get close. That, and it is dirty/muddy a lot on the outside. I need it buffed out. The inside is spotless, except for the bottom of the drivers door that was all mud splatter that I forgot to clean after the last time out. So black isn't that bad really.

Huh? What latch? If you're talking about that piece on the grill, it's a bicycle flag holder from Wallmart, which I painted Rustoleum "Hammered" black for a off-road flag.

Always with the negative waves, Moriarty!

Keep a coat of wax on it for when it's on the road. Yeah, you get pinstriped, but my plan is to own this vehicle to the end. Either its end or my end, whichever comes first. You can always repaint.
