Hi All,

I am hoping to buy the 2008 Liberty this Friday, with 85,000 km on it. I have wanted a Liberty for a long time, and I am so pumped at the prospect of making that dream come true. What should I look for? It's got the 3.7L V6 with 4x4, as far as I can tell it's bone stock, which works best for me as I have plans for it in the spring. Apart from getting some nice a/t snow tires for it for this winter

service records. especially surrounding the transmission, transfer case, differentials.
most people will do their oil, but not the others.
and at that mileage (maple syrup units) it should have had all of those done at least once if not multiple times.

It is only 53,000 miles. Doubtful any of these were done- maybe. But a good idea to do them and have a fresh start.

It is a good bit different than mine- an 04. I was looking at an 07 and an 08 near me but did not go for it. Both were higher miles. Sounds like your buy is a better bet. Biggest problem in my area is rust. Of course since you are in km you are likely in Canada? If so, then you know the rust to watch for. Good luck with your buy! I am still looking for a replacement for mine.

that's why I'm saying they should have been done. Diffs have a only a 30k service interval according to the book. pretty sure that's the same on the t-case.
One thing I *can* tell you is, 130k MILES is too far. :D

Yes I wish I had a better history on mine. The Carfax did not show a lot. It came from another state originally. If a person can get one with those low miles, it gives them a fighting chance to maintain it well. Lucky find I think.
