So we're in the middle of selling the KJ. Everyone that has come to look at it has been very pleased, until after they test drive it. After about 10-20 mins of driving, there is a sometimes faint but very distinct fluid burning smell. Not sure if coolant or oil, but there is no smoke or leak. There is just a smell there. Checked the oil and it does not smell burned and the level has not changed. Coolant levels are fine as well.

And almost every time the smell is there, it comes thru the air vents and fills the cabin. The Jeep runs great actually and does not have any mechanical issues it seems. I read somewhere it could be something with the heads, but not sure.

We're taking it Monday to get it looked at but I just wanted to hear yalls thoughts. Thanks!

Faint oil smell
check the right side valve cover, they can develop a small leak towards the rear and gives off a faint oil smell

A leaking heater core will do this. Burning oil and leaking coolant have two different distinct smells. But it's a bit hard to do a sniff test over the internet.
