Hello all, I am new to your site.

Bought a 2006 jeep liberty back in November and was wondering what my next steps should be on turning it into a weekend off roader.. This is also my daily driver...

Any ideas on what I should do?

OME or IronMan are the current front runners... You should have most of your bases covered with that nest egg. :D

check out the Lift section read the FAQ etc. and pick your poison.

or check out Jeepin by Al's website and fill your cart ...

It would probably be wise to invest in some skid plates at the same time ... couple 3 hundred or so?

then better tires etc. etc. etc. it only ever ends if you want it to

P.S. the Rev. will be along if you need more specifics ... Mr.Mudd that is :D

Ok, now as far as lifts go I was thinking a 2.5 lift and I was doing some research and I'm a little confused as how to go about this. I was looking a the jeepinbyal lifts and holy crap those are expensive, and then others are like a fraction of the price. So I'm not really sure what what I should do

Start by looking common issue on your KJ and fix them before they happen. Window regulator and rear upper control arm ball joint.
The KJ is a beast and it's easy to fix because we all have the same issue :)

After everything is sure and clean, I would say Iron man or OME lift kit

havent had any problems with my windows the rear upper control arms have been replaced and the ball joints are new if i remember correctly.

So OME lift kits are a good kit?

If everything is good then...lift kit time :D

Good option are also ARB bumper or a light bar, HD towing package if it's not already installed.

You can do a 2 inch lift in the 700 range and add to it later taking it up to a 3.5 inch Just a basic lift, couple of additions like bumpstop's but very reasonable
That's for the Ironman lift which is a good brand
OMEs are about 100 more as you move up to including everything then you'll get into the 1300-1400 range with 4 inches of lift
Next step is the ultimate kits that JBA has in the 3000 up

KJ Ironman 1.5" spring lift kit HD
$711.70
which actually gives you more than 1.5 inches
Econo 3.5" Lift Kit KJ
$1,355.69
includes everything including UCAs etc
and then on up as has been mentioned

I don't know a lot about these and about lift kit in general but everytime someone talk about those for some reason it never end really well...stick to OME or Ironman.
