Need help ID'ing a metal U shaped tube behind the drivers side headlight

I have a 2005 Liberty that my 16 yo mashed the drivers side headlight on. After removing everything there is a crushed metal U shaped tube behind the drivers side headlight that I can't figure out what it is for. Can anyone help out?

High pressure side power steering hose.
It goes from the pump to the rack.
