Been wanting to build a more Off Road type camping trailer for some time now. Kept drawing plans, pricing steel etc for what I wanted
Couple of weeks ago I was down home and went back over the hill to check fences and saw one of my old trailers sitting so I drug it out of retirement. Its 5 X 8 so pretty good size all around.
I built this one back in 1993 to haul firewood in for my house and my parents. Been sitting for the last 5 years now.
So installed new tail lights, ( Step Father always tore them off on trees

) and started to clean it up some.
First was a power wash to get rid of the crud. Then it looked to "short" behind the KJ so did a spring over....
still too short so thought why not go a little farther,
had a couple of 265-70-16 Treadwrights sitting around that only had 1000 miles on them, so called Summit Racing for new 16 X7 4 inch backspaced wheels, threw the tires/wheels on and did a little fender trimming and here it is .
Now for some paint, more lights
and then start building a removable tear drop for camping
( winter project)
oh and paint the wheels !!!!!

Nice!

And, Tom, I never get over how amazing your KJ looks. Absolutely love it! I'll have to get my **** over and see it in person sometime.

That's a great looking trailer.

I'm looking for a 4 x 8 to enclose for my drag snowmobile. 8 foot will need extra fabrication to hold a sled. This way when I get to the track a 4 wheeler can pull my trailer down to the ice.

Looks good Tom.
I like the idea of a tear drop travel trailer!

I just got an oxy/acetylene torch... Less expensive than a Plasma cutter.
(Although I'd really love to have a Plasma cutter... Some day!)
I'm going to angle the tail end of our tent trailer this winter so it has a better approach angle...

oooooo
plasma cutter would be so much fun to have. I look at them and then walk away slowly :happy175:
I sort of have plans drawn up for what I want to build , modified Teardrop with slideouts in the front for food / storage, sleeping in the rear area. I figure that way you could open the rear door and sit outside and watch the TV on the front wall :happy175:
Keeping it 4 foot high which will put it about the same height as the KJ is now

What is the big E for?

Well I could tell ya but.........................:whip:

No that came off of the old Weidemann Brewing building in Cincinnati Ohio , mine is the first "E"
Also the first letter of my last name.
A buddy knew that from time to time I drank the stuff and gave that to me for Christmas one year after they took the letters down

I have a whole collection of weird and strange things that I have collected over the years I think it will look as a headstone !

Hard to find fenders I like and also the size I need.
I'll be adding some "items" to the side so sort of holding off until all of that work is done and then new fenders
It looks great in IH Red though
