Picked up a haynes service manual for the speedmaster. Ordering some new fork oil for a future weekend. Ordered some new spark plugs... went with the iridiums for this one since the other forum I am on suggested them over standard coppers. Finally got my free saddlebags sitting proper.

    Still laughing about boatorcycle....

Glad you like it. It works pretty well. Painted waterseal all over the wood today.

What's a '70 Sportster worth in the southern states?

Been working on my singles. Many small things to do.

Very nice! Is it an 883 or does it have the 1200XL?

Wish it was the 1200 it's an 883 50 something cubic inch. It's plenty of power for me.

Whats nice about the 883s is no matter what you do insurance is still based on the 883 so way cheaper . Thats why the 3 I took in on trade I either turned into 1200s or the one went a little crazy with but still cheap insurance.

Been riding a ton. Picked up some new gloves to keep it going into the cold weather. Not happy it's getting cold so fast. Drooling over a new bike though. Oh yes it will be mine... oh yes it will be mine....

Cool that it's a triple and a Triumph but you don't really need an engine larger than most small cars in a bike. This would be the right bike to "trike" if I ever choose to ride one of them. Really happy to see Triumph, Norton, and Indian back on the road.

My bike has been parked in the garage for almost 2 weeks. Low speed drop after hitting some sand on the road and sliding onto soft shoulder. Tweeked the handlebar mounts, still waiting for new parts and trying to figure out how to press out the old mounts without disassembling the entire triple tree.:icon_sad:

And I was just about to roll over 50k on the Vegas!

Sad to hear but glad you are ok! I would take it apart just to change the fork oil with that many miles.

    Ouch. Glad you're okay.

My husband has to take apart his front forks to replace the seals and put on the boots - the left seal is weeping and neither has a boot.

    EDIT: now that sucks...

I've been borderline hypothermic twice on a motorcycle.
Once was a mid April ride up to Minneapolis. It was 55 degrees when I set out, and 2.5 hrs later when I arrived it was 39 degrees. When I arrived at the hotel I could not grip the pen or sign my name.

The other time was just a few years ago in JULY!!
high temp for the day was 55 degrees, which was tolerable until I hit rain on the way home (didn't have raingear along). I was shaking so bad I couldn't get the key in the garage door. When I walked into the apartment, my GF thought I was drunk.

    Stupid, stupid on both accounts

Finally put the bike to bed for the winter today. Was hoping to get one last ride but the winter storms have started and don't seem to be stopping. I'm sure I'll be posting here again come March/April unless we end up getting destroyed again.

Picked up most of a '72 BSA Gold Star basket case today. It's not all there except for most of it.
