I just bought a 2005 Silver Jeep Liberty Renegade (Rocky Mountain Edition) and want to know for sure what is the maximum tire size I can squeeze on this thing without any rubbing.... no lift installed. Stock tire size is 225/75 R16.

I've read through all the threads here and it LOOKS like the 245/70 R16 would work... IF I'm correct that it would be ok for post 2002 (lowered) Liberty's... does anyone know for sure if this is correct?

That is correct, 245/70R16 will fit your Liberty.

I have a 2" lift and still went with 245/70R16. While only slightly taller and wider than stock, they don't rub and I figured they would be gentler on the drivetrain and suspension components. Call me conservative.

I got Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos - world of difference from the stock Goodyears.

Thanks Grogiefrog... I already saw that chart... but it didn't say (not that I noticed) whether it applied to pre or post 2002 Liberty's, or both.

Priell3, that's a NICE Liberty... Thanks for the link to the pics. I think I'll go with the 245/70's... how's that 2" 4WD Hardware lift working out? It sure looks good... did it come with shocks also? If not, which shocks are you using and do you like them?

Thanks, Luis.

Here is the link to the lift kit:

The additional ground clearance and ride quality are excellent with this lift, especially with the better tires. The kit comes with rear shocks and springs front and rear.
