If you're running an LT load range E tire what psi are you running them at?

With my 265/70r17s I did the chalk test and I'm at 29psi cold with about a 1/4" - 1/2" of chalk left from the edge.

Is it safe to run them on the street with 26-28 psi cold or should I stay at 29 cold?

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Really depends on your KJ's weight.Your pretty light without any armor.

When my KJ was still IFS with full armor(5500lbs) the 2 sets of 265/75R16's(load range D) was best at 38-40psi.

My 245 75 16 C's liked 34- 37 PSI. I was pretty light.

how bad does the chalk look at 33?

You'll have less chance of issues at a higher pressure than the heat associated with under inflating.

Just don't let anybody convince you that you need 80 PSI like a 2500 series truck.
