...and it looks (externally) nigh on the same trans as the 545RFE (and hence the 45RFE). Pan stud pattern appears to be the same, the length of the maincase is the same (circa 23") although the area the TC sits inside of has obviously grown in diameter. Rearwards of the 'front wall (pump) the trans appears to be identical.

Obviously there are different internals, but chrysler certainly are getting their moneys' worth out of the RFE platform!

Just thought that might be interesting for some. :)

if you drop in 3.9L/4B cummins then that ****** will work but i do not think that kj rear end or the transfer case will hold that torque

The nice thing is this makes it so that we have internal upgrade options should we choose or need to rebuild the transmission (since so many parts interchange).
