Hi,

I've discovered a water leak which is soaking the carpets when it rains. I had the windscreen re-seated and re-sealed but the water still comes in. I have now found that the cavity on the driver's side fills and overflows which probably drips down onto the carpet. I cleaned out the cowl, no debris. It looks like it's the A panel that fills. I tested the water level and it's easily 12cm of standing water in that cavity. I am taking the car to a body shop soon but was hoping someone has some advice before I take her in. Has anyone experienced this kind of leak? It's definitely rain water. I'm thinking that it runs down the junction between the cowl/scuttle and the pillars/firewall and pools in that cavity and ultimately squeezes out into all the joints. I have attached a few images.

I've spoken with the local Jeep dealership but they are stumped.

Thanks in advance.
B

You are looking in the wrong place, I had the same happen on my Cherokee 2004 CRD on the LH side dripping over the fused box.
Remove the wiper blades then the plastic cover in front of the windscreen ,just below the windscreen you will see factory sealant on the front wing joints this fails over time I have recovered this area twice with sealant.
I used brake cleaner to help find that last leak its normally along the joints.
I hope this helps John

At first I thought it was coming down the A piller through the roof, not the case for me.

Are there drain holes and hoses out of the scuttle under that plastic cover?
Would like to know as I have the same issue, which was apparently fixed - but is now happening again.

Its not the drain holes there are inner wing joints sealed together running down from the drain holes under the plastic cover, the sealent has broken down and the water makes it way through to the inside of the jeep, also dirt collects here and channels it along the leaking joint.

Heres a couple of photos the black sealant is covering the orginal and further along where the was no sealant. this was on the LH on my jeep.
