Hi,

I've discovered a water leak which is soaking the carpets when it rains. I had the windscreen re-seated and re-sealed but the water still comes in. Has anyone experienced this kind of leak? It's definitely rain water. I've dried the carpet, put down industrial grey mats to soak up any remaining water overnight, and found that the top layer of the fabric was dry whilst the bottom layer was soaked. So I'm thinking that it runs down the junction between the cowl/scuttle and the pillars/firewall and pools underneath the carpets, therefor it sucked up water from below. I attached a few images. I've found that it runs down the driver's side (droplets). I also found a small puddle on the ground which led me to think that it the pooled water is dripping (there was no rain the previous night). I previous found that the water runs down the gas pedal as well.

I've spoken with the local Jeep dealership but they are stumped. I am taking the car to a body shop to see if they can find a solution.

Thanks in advance.
B

How fast does the leak appear after the Jeep gets rained on? If it shows up very quickly I would pick a nice dry day and go out with a watering can and wet only a tiny portion of any suspect areas - one at a time. Hopefully you'll do this in a couple spots, then when you hit the right one and the water starts leaking in you'll have the entry point narrowed down. If it takes a long time for the water to seep through (as in, possibly even overnight) you can still do it this way but you'll only be able to test one spot per day.
