well my stealership say's this i normal for a two and an half year old, I think they're talking bulls##t needencouragement.g:.

What do you think? and no i has not been off road YET, NOT till it's 3rd birthday in September.

If your from the northern snowy/salty states then its kinda common.
Nothing a little black rustoleum can't fix

Do they salt the roads where you live? Mine is about 1/2 as rusty as yours and is an '05 w/ 57k miles, and has seen several salty Indiana winters. It is rusty though.

It's only cosmetic. The surface rust is a protectant all by itself. Just paint it. When I worked on Chrysler products in the mid to late 70's cars and trucks would look like that new on the lot. If the customer bothered to look, they wanted the undercoating.

If you would of done like a lot of us it would of been painted before it was a month old. I bet mines got twenty five coats of paint on it by now.

My axle is not that bad, although I haven't checked it very recently, but other parts are rusted a bit.
