Hi there,

I would like to ask what fees and duties I might face if one buys something from, say US seller on ebay, quadratec and etc.

I have just learnt that a nice used zoom Canon lence from Japan worth USD650 turns into landed cost CAD915 (shipping, duties, exchange and taxes)

What was your experience?

By the way, I had to pay CAD60 more to UPS for a full Liberty Service Manual CD from techauthority.

Always ask the seller to ship USPS (united states postal service) regular mail !
UPS is a sham, they like to get broker fees, and everything else they can mark up into it.

Oh yeah always avoid using UPS or Fed-Ex for international shipping, use a standard mail carrier like suggest the USPS. Its how I do my parts importing, stays nice and dirt cheap.
