Good evening,

My Liberty is used for heavy off-roading. I run 40” tires and have a 5.38 axle ratio. I would like to know if you there in the USA know of any power module or any way to get more performance out of this 3.7 engine, especially to improve the response and shift quality of the automatic transmission.

I don't think that there's much available for the 3.6, it's fairly well tuned as is, the diesel can be chipped but it's got a turbo that can be wound up.

First off, we would love to see pics or video of your Liberty with 40" tires!
The short answer to your question is "it depends". You don't mention the model year of your Liberty, but the newer 3.7L models may have electronics that are compatible with a plug-and-play chip from Jet Performance in the USA, but don't expect dramatic results. Especially, without further performance upgrades. My Liberty is a 02 on 31" tires with 4:10 gears and I don't run a module or chip. I initially installed a full Magnaflow Catback Exhaust with a AEM drop-in performance air filter. Much later, I added a complete AEM Cold Air Intake (CAI). The complete Magnaflow exhaust helped performance on the 3.7L, but it wasn't until I added the full AEM CAI that I got a immediate improvement in throttle response. This new throttle response is noticeable even by my passengers and I wish I had done the AEM CAI sooner. Btw, JBA Headers just announced yesterday that they now have their shorty headers back in stock for the later model 3.7L Liberty and Dodge Nitro models. I hope this helps and please post images of your Liberty on 40s!

Oh the ol "fairly well tuned" comment about the 3.6 when ya just don't know. A lot can be done if you know how. Hell I'm not a tuner and have shaved a full second off 1/4 mile time with hptuners. Mine runs like a banshee. Even smokes a bit ha. btw time was 16.39 not bad for 260k miles bout right back to stock haha. Still a lot to do to it though

Tuning non turbo engines is an unrewarding pass time, you're chasing a tiny increase in power for substantial work and cost, the original post is a guy running 40" tyres on his Jeep, he's dropped the axle ratio about as low as he can go, a chip tune on his engine is going to be a total waste of time, cam swaps etc will give it a little more but again ultimately pointless.

Liberty doesnt even have the 3.6 engine...

Flyin Ryan is the only person I would go to for tuning the 3.7. He could give you some advance on what you could do to pep it up a bit.
