Hi everybody.
Help is needed!
I've just bought a set of 4 TPMS Dorman 974-001 at Mach5Auto.com, for aftermarket wheels on my Jeep Cherokee 3.7L KJ (Europian version of Liberty Limited KJ). On Dormans homepage the learning procedure for new TPMS is "drive at least 10 minutes with at least 15 mPh" and there schould be "autoconnect".
On my car nothing happens, and i get a message at the infodisplay just after start "Check TPMS system" and the tiresymbol lamp flashes every 10 minutes driving.
Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem.
Regards Carsten Ullerup from Denmark.

Carsten, what year is your Cherokee/Liberty?

The kit should include a "training magnet" for the sensors. You initiate the "training mode" in the overhead console and then hold the magnet near each wheel as directed by the overhead console. Once you go through all 5 wheels the system will be trained and the TPMS monitors will be activated with your console.

If your kit did not include the magnet it is either for a different year Jeep/Chrysler product or it is incomplete.

Hope this helps!

Hi. My Jeep Cherokee KJ is 2007. I've just got this mail from Dorman Product:

Thanks for your inquiry. When performing your relearn be sure NOT to slow down below 15 mph or stop before the relearn is complete. If you do, you will have to start all over. I suggest finding some highway that runs for several miles. Pull over and shut the vehicle off and wait at least 20 minutes. Start the vehicle and drive over 15mph for at least 20 minutes. The system should relearn at that point

Hi again.

I have tried the recommended learning procedure from Dorman Product, without any luck - so I'm still searching for a solution to solve my problem.

Case closed!
Have found documentation for, that the Dorman 974-001 TPMS sensors i bought at Mach5auto.com is a domestic US type, transmitting on 315 Mhz. My vehicle is an Export version, driving in Europe, and need a 433 Mhz type TPMS. If anybody knows a place where i can buy a set, let me know. /Carsten
