HELP!!!

I hosed it off well but there's a film of muck left behind. Can anyone recommend a sure fire method to clean this off?? Am I going to be forced to remove a bunch of stuff like the intake tube, heat sheild, battery et al to get in there and scrub it all off?

Step1.5: Enjoy pint of Guinness while stuff soaks in.

Step 4: Profit

Should I wait a couple of minutes before rinsing?

Thanks for the advice... I'll empty a gallon milk jug and fill it up with Simple Green at work. Think I'll use my garden sprayer to apply.

We've also got some "Precision Kleen" aircraft soap stuff. It's a blue gel we cut 50/50 with water to clean wheels and landing gear wells. Stuff cuts through brake dust and grease like nobody's business. Might try a bit of that as well on the inner fender and see how it does.

That should work dandy, too, assuming it doesn't eat automotive paint.

But yes, let it soak in. Guinness is the wrong beer to drink though:p

It doesn't eat the white enamel in the wheel well or on the gear itself. I'll try it on the inner fender, under the battery.

If Guinness is so wrong, what would you suggest? Natty Ice? I've got Stella and some Hoegarten in the fridge too. Maybe a Cerves Mas Finas from Cuba along with one of the MonteCristos I've got in the humidor from my trip to the Republic of We Love Che Guevara.

Ian, before you spray everything down.....
I would use plastic baggies or what ever to cover the alternator and fuse panel etc.
I would also cover the intake on K&N etc....
Then wash those particular sensitive items by hand.. dry.
Cheers!(beer)(Cheers)

Why cover the alternator and fuse panel?
During ThunderbirdJunkie's weekly washings those are both victims of the pressure washer.

Ever since October 2005.

See TBJ, even little gif dude has a pint of Guinness in hand.

TC, I'm going to take the intake, heatshield, battery, couple of other things... out and bag + tape up all the sensitive stuff before applying any harsh soap or emulsifying chemical agents to my KJs tender bits.

That's Michelob Amber Bock, friend.

Ever had a "Dead Guy Ale" or an "Arrogant Bastard" those are some fine libations. Only had them in Salinas and Kern County, Ca.

And the thread jacking continues. Not that I mind, the question has been answered already. Jack on my good man, Jack on.

That's what she said.

Also, ThunderbirdJunkie has a 32oz (pretty sure that's it) on display above his desk. Good stuff.

Way better than Guinness

It was empty about 5 minutes after ThunderbirdJunkie got it.

Local Irish pub (all the waitresses are hot redheads, even) serves it. Great stuff.
