Just lined up the brackets... stuck a marker through the holes and drilled on the marks. Easy peasy.

Roof Racks and Cargo Basket

Today I installed the Yakima Lowriders, Yakima Crossbars and the Rola Roof Basket. Overall I love the look... Just seems proportionate to size of the jeep and not boxey... Has nice lines. You can see the sloped back to the rack follows the contour of the rear of the Jeep...

Class-3 Hidden Hitch Install

What a freakin hightmare... I could not even get the bolts to start. The holes were corroded and gunked up... 3 years of winters I guess...

I tried everything to clean them and could not even start the 18mm bolts.

I found this thread and then I grabbed a 12mm x 1.75 tap and cleaned all the bolt holes. THEN I used the same sized die and fine tuned the threading on the ****** graded bolts they ship with it...

They then threaded in like (or better than) brand new. The hitch install went flawlessly with the provided bolts.

The only issue was that ONE bolt (front passenger side) bocked by the exhaust pipe... but my nieghbour came but and pulled the exhaust pipe to the side and with a rachet extension it went in no more difficult than the others...

It's a BIG difference when you are under there installing a hitch that you can hand thread the bolts with no problems

Tap and Die!!!! Do not use smaller bolts because that means the hitch is being held secure by the dirt in the holes....

Here is the after shots of my Rusty's coil install... Completely different ride now... night and day difference...

The ride is much higher if you compare to the original photo at the top of this post.

It hasn't settled noticably since installation and I'm now 1 week overdue for an allignment so I'll try to have that done next week... it's tracking fine though for now without an allignment...

New Alpine iDA-X001

I just picked this up on the weekend and it's awsome.

I get in my jeep, open the glove box and plug my Nano into the UBS port on the glove box (yes USB in the glove box!) and then my stereo takes the music from the iPod.

It will also play Mp3 or other format from any USB key plugged into the USB port and the sound is incredible.

Best feature I like is it shows the album cover of each song it plays on the screen as it's playing. It also has bluetooth cell phone features built in and the face has no non-essential buttons on it...
