The only things you really risk damaging are your gauge needles. Gotta be careful with those.

Mine came with that out of factory, so no worries 
I wouldn't play around there... IF you must get them, look for OEM not these..

I put them on mine almost 3 years ago and haven't had a problem with them.
I wouldn't say it's easy to install them, but it's not hard.
Hardest part is making sure you get the needles back in the correct locations after you are done.
