Hi. New to forum. I have a 2003 Liberty I use to move my 16' camping trailer around my lot and put 18' lifeboat in water. I am 78 yrs old and have neck problems. A front hitch would be a blessing. I was told it might be possible to bolt or weld a tube that I could slip the hitch receiver into to one side of the front frame. Before going to a garage , I wonder if any of you have an idea if this makes any sense, since you must see the underside of your Jeeps to install lift kits. A front hitch in Canada is around $450+15% taxes. $200+ more than in the US. Thanks for your time, and greetings from Northeastern Québec.

Thank you for your quick reply. I have viewed where the tow hooks' 3 bolt holes are. Thing is I was told that it might be possible to bolt(or weld) ONLY ONE tube on one side to move things around the yard. I don't mind cutting the plastic air dam. If it ever stops raining up here, I'll go have a look. have a nice Memorial weekend.

If you're just looking to move the boat around the yard, then you should be fine bolting a hitch ball mount directly into the same location where a full hitch would mount.
I wouldn't second guess it.
The hitch mounts below the "frame". You could put it into the hole in the where the bolts go for the frame to add a little extra support.
