My 2007 Liberty has 140 K ish miles. Had original shocks all the way around. Replaced them with NAPA shocks and struts. Installed, torqued everything. Even replaced and torqued the front sway bar bushings. Upper control arms were replaced by shop couple years back. Only thing I didn't do was replace the sway bar links.

Open both the drivers side and passenger side doors. Jump on door jams. Sounds good/drives fine till I go over a speed bump. Slow speed and I hear noise out of right front end. Clunk noise is best description.

So my thoughts are sway bar links or bad shock or ball joint failing.

Other ideas, thoughts appreciated.

I had the same issue as you are experiencing. Paid good money at a shop and had the front suspension rebuilt (2004 Liberty 95,000mi.) Brought it home and still had the speed bump clunk. Did some research, here I think, and replaced the sway bar bushings. No more clunk. Not a bad job either. I chose MOOG bushings. They don't slip on super simple but they will go on.

I had the same problem and found it to be loose bolt on one of the upper control arm bushings. Also check the front diff bushings.

Thanks for the suggestion. I went with new MOOG bushings. Even torqued them. Worth a try but didn't fix it this time.

TY for feedback. Yesterday I replaced the front brake calipers and rotors. Clunk side rotor was worn vs the driver side. Also replaced the sway bar links. Will need to bleed brakes to test drive. Will post results soon.

I had a clunk like that.... It was the CV axle banging around in the housing on the passenger side. New CV, intermediate shaft, and bearing/seal was the fix.

I've been chasing a similar clunk - replaced everything I could think of but it's still there. To determine if it's something related to the swaybar you can just disconnect both end links and drive around town and see if the clunk is gone - it will narrow your search or eliminate the swaybar or end links as a source.

The CV axle clunk is checked with a prybar. How far up can you lever the inboard CV?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you all. I spent the last week taking a hard look at everything in my spare time. Jeep was due for VA state inspection and they are thorough. Inspectors put it on a lift and raised the hood. On lift two mechanics with flashlights went over everything. They passed it and commented that it looks like I had fixed everything that could go wrong. But no help with the pinpointing the squeak. So did my own reinspection. Took the front sway bar bushings off and greased them and reinstalled. They are Duralast Sway Bar Bracket Bushing HB200161 that I bought last month Greased and still had a squeak. Thought these have to be the issue. So bought another set of new sway bar bushings from Moog online. Part #moog-k200161 Installed and problem solved. Who would think Duralast bushings were the problem. Thought the first set I bought were Moog. On the AutoZone web site they were blue. Picked them up and they were black. Wasted a bunch of time on a $25 part. Argh Appreciate all the suggestions. Every one of them.
